📖 History and Significance:
Tonga — the only Pacific nation never to have been colonised — introduced the pa’anga in 1967. King Tāufaʻāhau Tupou IV reigned from 1965 to 2006, and his portrait appeared on Tongan notes for four decades. Notes are issued by the National Reserve Bank of Tonga.
