About Estonia banknotes
Estonia first became independent in 1918 and issued marka and penni notes, followed by the kroon in 1928. Soviet occupation in 1940 replaced it with the rouble. After independence was restored, the kroon returned in 1992 and stayed until Estonia adopted the euro on 1 January 2011.
