About Egypt banknotes

Egypt has issued paper money since the National Bank of Egypt opened in 1898, and the Central Bank of Egypt took over in 1961. The long-running designs pair Cairo's great mosques with ancient Egyptian temples, chariots and statues. In 2022–2023 Egypt introduced polymer 10 and 20 pound notes.
