About Cambodia banknotes

Cambodia has an unusual monetary history: the Khmer Rouge abolished money altogether in 1975, and the riel was only reintroduced in 1980. Today the National Bank of Cambodia issues riel notes, while the US dollar is also widely used for larger payments.
