Like the older 10 Kronor, it honours Gustav Vasa, King of Sweden from 1523 to 1560 and founder of the Vasa dynasty, named on the note as GUSTAV VASA 1523-1560. The design was by Eric Palmquist with engraving by Albert Jorpes.
