A presidential decree of 12 November 1993 introduced the tenge three days later, on 15 November, still celebrated as the day of the national currency. The first notes, from 1 to 100 tenge, were ordered from Harrison \u0026amp; Sons in England, with portraits of famous Kazakhs on the front and landscapes and monuments on the back.
